Course Information The Diploma in Business (Level 5) is a nationally registered qualification, which has been approved by the NZ Qualifications Authority. It is a full time 44 week course, completed over 2 semesters of 22 weeks each. Student work is assessed by means of tests, research assignments and team based project work. Much student work involves applying course concepts in actual business case-studies. For fast track course, students can complete this qualification in seven months. Course Information The New Zealand Diploma in Business is a nationally recognised, broadly based business qualification which will qualify you for entry into a wide range of business careers. This is a 12-paper programme and is equivalent to 2 years full-time study. Six papers are compulsory and six come from a range of optional papers. Full-time students usually study three papers per semester but it is possible in some circumstances to study four papers. Part-time students usually study one or two papers per semester. Course Information The NZIM Diploma in Management constitutes an NZQA approved120 credit Level 5 qualification. The NZIM Diploma in Management provides a thorough grounding in business and management practice appropriate for people wishing to enter management roles in business. The qualification is designed as an exit point from the NZ Diploma in Business for those students who wish to have a basic understanding of management practice but do not wish to specialise in business studies. It also provides a platform for students wishing to transition to degree programmes or advanced management qualifications such as the NZIM Diploma in Management (Advanced). While most students complete the qualification using papers from the NZ Diploma in Business, other courses of study may be approved for credit to papers with the prior approval of NZIM. These courses of study may require NZIM moderation to ensure they are equivalent to NZ Diploma in Business papers in their scope and quality. Course Outline Semester One (14Weeks)
