VINZ Certificate in General English

IELTS (Upper-Intermediate, Advanced English)

VINZ TESOL Course (Introductory) (Level 4)

IELTS

Course Information

IELTS is short for International English Language Testing System, and tests the four macro-skills of language: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. It is one of the most recognized and authoritative testing systems. This course is suitable for international and permanent resident students who are preparing to enter New Zealand and overseas educational institutions and who need to present an internationally recognized assessment of their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Many employers require a similar assessment of a potential employee’s English language proficiency. The New Zealand Immigration Service draws upon IELTS test scores when considering applicants for permanent residency.

We have specialized IELTS teachers, who will help you to achieve your best in these exams. Some of them are IELTS examers. Our teachers would supply the real exam environment and treat the students as examinees.

Course Outline

This is a 12 week course with the expectation of rising 0.5 score at the end of the course. Then students are enrolled at a higher level 12 weeks course until they get satisfactory IELTS score. Students will be trained in interpreting and answering IELTS questions. Skills sessions will be topic-based covering the five topic areas most often found in IELTS examinations: health, social issues, technology, education and the environment.

The IELTS course aims to equip students with the skills and strategies needed to undertake the IELTS test with confidence to achieve a band 6.0 or above.
